Default Why change something when it look good. (Scoobynet)

Am I the only one who thinks the new scoobynet looks cheap and quite nasty.

Just woke up maybe that was not the right thing to say. I just thought the old one looked really good.

No different speedwise to before for me. This new format will take some getting used to but will no doubt eventually be just as familiar to us all as the old one.

Functionality wise it may be a little better.

But aesthetically it reminds me of early versions of the forum. To blocky & old.

also a fair bit slower for me

I like it! It looks clean and fresh and the ads can be removed (for the most part) with the Ad Block FireFox add-on. Speed is fast with Ad Block on. And kudos to the new owners for putting the search back. Well done!

Against SNet terms and conditions. If your not a subscriber then you have to put up with the adverts to keep SNet in revenue. I was called a leech by the previous webby for suggesting the use of such things

The problem with the old SN templates were although they looked good, they were heavily customised templates, and as such they were full of bugs that caused all sorts of weird and wonderful glitches.

Every minor change introduced a problem. And its these templates that have prevented the forum upgrade and any proper maintenance. So in order to make the forum reliable, and make it easier to do future upgrades, a more standarised forum template has been used. The other added advantage is the forum should be now more efficient with handling normal menial tasks, which means that the forum will be faster and we can turn on more features (such as search) without causing detriment to the forum's speed.

Stu and IB are still in the process or tidying things up and sorting out any remaining/new bugs.

It looks perfectly alright to me, as B2Z says, I am getting used to the new appearance already.

Its is a bit slower at re-direction though. Maybe just needs a bit more tweaking yet.

I can't see it in the terms and conditions since IB put theirs on there. Still if you pay up I think you might have a case/right for blocking ads.

Oh yeah, just had a look through, nothing about blocking ads Now turning on AdBlock, FlashBlock etc.

Seems to be a few **** enlargement, viagra, etc. type ads appearing at the moment anyway so a good idea to block and make it all work friendly

We aren't suggesting that you are ill-equipped in that department , but do you have a screenshot of those ads by chance?

We do our best to block ads that aren't "work safe", sadly on occasions, some do get through.

I'm sure there's a joke there about targeted audience or something

SafariBlock for me, it actually makes the new design look much smarter.

I remember thinking that the 'new' site looked poor when SN was ported over to vBulletin years ago. This looks better, in my opinion, and itll soon grow on people.

WHERE ARE THE POST REPLY BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do we need garages,? social networking, and other usless "" trendy"" stuff.

ffs, what is it with people who need to socialy network every bleeding aspect of there

lives to all in sundry? are they that insecure, they have to tell everyone every time

they post, fart, sh*t?

Its bad enough having facebook thrust down your face every day, by nine billion kids,

you dont know, wanting to be your ""friend"".

Its a car forum, not a facebook subsidiary!!

Mart, the post reply button is just below here to the left and they even wrote 'post reply' on it to make it easy for us.

Social groups - if you don't like them just ignore that aspect of the new SN, it's hardly intrusive.

The garage is in part what 'View my Scooby' used to be - what is the problem with that? We are on a car forum after all.

Can't really see what you issue is to be honest.
