Default Come on Moderators, sort out an Audio and Visual section.

A while ago i asked could we have an Audio and Visual section on here seeing as we have stuff like DIY and Computer sections, Audio and Visual seems to be one of the most popular subjects we have on here.

If we had an AV section then it would save on having to trawl back through months worth of posts to find something AV related. It also saves on having to read through lots of off topic subjects to find something.

I think it would make a good sub-forum to the Computer section, I don't think it warrants its own dedicated forum though.

Nar, it deserves its own section because to me far more people ask about AV issues in the non scooby section than PC people ask about computer stuff in the computer section.

Photography gets its own section so AV should have its own section, everybody owns a television and most people own a dvd player along with a big percentage having sky tv, you also have surround sound and other AV subjects to discuss.

Thats just the same as telling people who like photography to go to

Talk Photography

Or people who like computers should go to

Computer Forum

Yet both have sections on here, your point holds no water. Their are a lot of AV enthusiasts on here as ive seen the numerous threads, not all advice on AV forums is good, some advice is great but some is not great where as someone on here may have a quick answer.

People do not buy televisions/DVD players every day and there is only a small amount of questions that could be asked, in comparison to Computers/Photography/DIY, even small so when you consider how many members are on this forum (active) and the percentage of them people who would have any questions at all. If its reviews you are after, then by and large that is pointless too, with the rapid deployment of now gear out weekly, it really needs dedicated website, AVforums.

If its Media Networking/Broadcasting/Serving/Streaming you are on about, this would still come under Computing.

Well it seems there is a point as several respondants to your question have replied with links to specialist forums.

The fact Scoobynet has small Computer, Photography and DIY sections should maybe addressed in a different way. Instead of loading up a forum dedicated to all things Impreza with unrelated subjects, they should be scrapped and then people can go to the larger, purpose designed forums to find the info they need?

in the old days before we had a seperate photo section "we" decided to prefix all photorelated posts with [SPF] for scoobynet photography forum...

Perhaps mods could change the titles on any av threads to [SAVF] ?

Just a thought.
