Default choice of advert

Hi

How much say does Scoobynet have over the choice of advert?

Last few pages Ive been reading I have been getting a distressing image of a caged bear talking of "draining bile through his permanent wound in his abdomen" The other one is a rather sad looking dog behind a wire cage and refering to "vermin to be slaughtered"

I find these quite disturbing , I know thats their intention but Id prefer not to see that on a car forum.

On the plus side I got used to the advertisment position very quickly and think its a good place for them to stay.

Hi Jaybird

I think this is a valid point.

Once the offices open on Monday I will discuss this with them.

We're now using one of the most reputable advertising agencies on the net for the side banners, so I have no doubt that this can be solved.

Thanks for your comment.

Im still being subjected to images of distressed animals which I dont want to see.

I know you frown upon ad blockers but I also dont want to see images I find unpleasant. I give frequently to animal charities but dont really want to see these.

Hi Jaybird

Please accept my apologies for this. We are having a few difficulties with it, but it really should be sorted soon.

I am currently out of the country and don't have proper internet access until tomorrow, but will attempt to get to the bottom of this in the morning

Update

OK, I have spoken with the agency this morning, and they are looking into changing the settings so these will no longer appear.

This may take 24 hours or so, but I'd appreciate it if you could let me know if any of these adverts appear any time after 3pm on Tuesday 14th August, UK time.

Apologies again, we'll get this sorted.

jaybird, you're more than welcome.. but more to the point, thank you for your patience in getting this sorted out, especially as you have already paid to support scoobynet.

All the best

Just an update. They have told me that this has definitely been blocked now. But it appears it hasn't been, as I've just seen one.

I think the problem is that they are running many different actual banners and they're missing some of them.

They really are working on it though, so it should be done completely asap.

thanks for your patience
