iirc you had this in the past.

why do you not have a list of users who are currently online, and a list of all the users who have visited in the Last 24 hours.

It would also be nice if you added the Top Posters Hack too.

Things like that put at least an extra query on per mod. Doesn't sound like much, but multply that by many tons of requests per second. Slowness starts to ensue.

are you saying by having this list, mod's are inumdated with Pm requests etc?

if so you can select specific groups that will or will not be shown.

And by query I meant hit on the database/database server.

Their are many larger forums with this and they do not suffer with the speed, with them added.

 

They on vB too? Might be on better software or servers or something.

As we used to have the users online and it disappeared when they were trying to get the speed back up I would have thought this is why it went.

Yeah, we took it off to keep the speed up. We didn't think it was important enough to justify the speed reduction.
