I've had a great idea Simon,
wouldn't it be good if a thread appeared as new if one of its posts had been edited.
I can see this giving several benefits
* you don't have 1000's of 'bump', 'back to the top' threads cluttering up posts and making them hard to read.
* you reduce the number of records you have in the database table thus making indexes and space usage far more efficient.
againsts:
* are there any - I imagine the database manipulation would be to mark the last posted date on the thread record when an edit takes places along the same lines as a new reply
anyone else agree ???
regards
Ian.
