Default New Posts pages max

There only ever seems to be a max of 4 pages of new posts. Have I missed an option to change this? I have checked.

Could you please explain exactly what you mean?

Sorry.
I sometimes only visit once a day, but I like to read the new posts rather then each category. But when I hit the new posts link at the top. It only shows a max of 4 pages of new posts, regardless of when the last time I visited was.
Is there a way for me to change this, so I can read all the new posts from the last time a I visited?

thanks

hmm

interesting.

click this :
https://www.scoobynet.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

Then scroll down to "Default Thread Cut Off Age" and set that to "Forum Default".

If that doesn't work, set it to "Show All Threads" or whatever is appropriate for you.

Please let me know how you get on.

Simon

Ahhh, there it is. Sorry.
It was already at Show All, but I have now changed it to Forum Default.
Still only 4 pages atm, but I'll give it a chance to build up. If not, I'll go back to Show All to see if that works.
thanks

Tried both ways for a while, neither one worked.
Is it supposed to only show 4 pages max?

Yep, same here, I use the new posts option on all the forums I use, usually maxes out at about 20 pages but i've always only had 4 on here.

If I dont visit during the day, I only get the last 4 pages of posts when I get home which usually spans about an hour tops!

Is this something that could be looked at?
I prefer to use the new posts option, as I get to see a variety of threads from each section. Sections I wouldn't normally go into, unless I was looking for something in particular.

Anyone looked into this?

I find it happens when I do a search also. Not good when I am looking for something I need to know, and the first 4 pages are only the last few weeks or so.

Hi

In the search options you can select a date range. This will solve your problem.

As for the "new posts" feature. This is based on the search function, so it will be limited in the same way.

The reason for the limit is that 4 pages of results is usually far more than enough, and it massively reduces the time it takes to return the results.

Use the advanced search and manipulate the date ranges, etc in the circumstances where you need more than 4 pages

Thanks for looking into, but I can't try it out yet as I don't have the search function.
