I got my prodrive from that fella. (the first one)
He's a nice enough fella, but not the sharpest tool in the box! As long as you do all your checks you should be alright! I had a brief glimpse at that car, but didn't really pay enough attention to report back anything worthwhile. That car is stored in Blackburn. He doesn't take card payments btw. 'tis quite the drive for you so make sure you ask plenty of questions if you decide to go!

Wait for the daft engine rebuild jokes that'll go with the second one

Fwiw the white bug is a much nicer looking car, not many about in white either!

the second one worries me as its got full service history and cambelt change at 50k but no engine or performance work at all. apparently its been decatted but not had a remap?

I was lucky, the car I bought had only got advertised that evening, was sold to me the next day. Granted it needed work and a good clean but that got bargained into the price! He's a tough nut to crack negotiation wise though!

Both over priced white bug is nice but i'd be wanting it a bit cheaper than £8k which is blob wide track money.

Hawk want's to be around £7k to compensate for the rebuild it's going to need @77k on the clock it's going to want a clutch before too long too, if it's forged and had a recent clutch, belts etc then fine @ £9k.

I'd go for the bug personally if I had that money to spend on one, just make sure the gear box is ok and check front subframe for rust and get it professionally underseald if it's not been done, nice rare car with reasonable miles in a rare colour always going to command a slight premium and a much stronger engine, i'd still knock him down for cash.

Way overpriced imo. as above, I was looking at a hawk sti spec D with less miles with a full service history, and the price started with a 6. The hawk sti's are worth less than a 05 blob eye, unless they have been forged with the head gaskets sorted.

The first one would need to be under 6k to get me even remotely interested. For 8-9k I would be thinking fresher JDM or wide track blob.

Most warranties aren't worth the paper they're printed on and a complete waste of money, a clutch would be considered normal wear and tear.

Don't get caught up on that hawk there will be others, just bide your time and the right car will come along, but even at £9k that one is way too much and the chocolate engine WILL need £3k minimum thrown at it to make it reliable.

JDM White Bug Spec C RA is rare.

But I think the Hawkeye comes with a spare starter motor on the passengers seat , anyone else tell what it is?

I looked at that Bugeye ad a fair few times when I was in the market, I thought it looked and read real nice but I didn't go and view it.

My choice would be the Bugeye, think its a no brainer if comparing the two in present condition / worries.
