As above i already have lowering springs but dont really want to change to coilovers?
Is there a size that wod fit without rubbing?

Yes you will be able to fit them,but they will look little bit odd on the shocks and springs,but for sure for best look coilovers and camber bolts

Really depends on the size of tyres and wheels,but still I would recommend to use coilovers and camber bolts for best look

You can get xxrs in smaller width but to get the concave look they need to be 8.75 wide.
They will fit with no issues if the car is not too low but the car will look like bigfoot

defo needs lowering,you dont have to have it 'slammed' just a nice subtle drop will do lofty.
mine is 40mm all round at the min which is a tad too low but i can live with it on these **** wheels and rubber until i find some xxr's and have them fitted and a fast road set up done

 

Going xxr 18 9.75 et20 on my classic, but the wheel arches will be getting cut right back. I know this doesn't help, but I am excited!

Ok cheers chaps, didnt really want to go down coilover route again.
I dont mind not having the concave look will try and find a set at 8 inch wide then.

 

i have these on my bugeye its on coilovers its not to low i want to go lower but i no it will rub and i hate that if i rolled the arches would that stop the rubbing and what will the camber bolts do i seen it mensioned above in a few posts??

 

As above you will fit them without the issue,but you will need for best look coilovers,just due they will look strange and odd

Camber bolts will help you get more camber if you are running wide wheels or if you want more camber than OE spec or coilovers will allow you

Rolled arches are advisable and recommended due tyre rubbing,if you are running coilovers then I would rise ride height at rear at least,this will or can cure problems with rubbing at rear

well if i got the arches done and camber bolts to tuck in the top of the wheel a bit this mite help a bit im not looking to bury it to the ground i just want to tuck the tire into the arch and bit to give it a nice stance cause imo i dont think these wheels look rite atal when its not fairly low but thats just my view on them..

Usually when you are running very wide wheels or wider wheels on coilovers,usually on most coilovers you will be limited on camber side,in our case,we are been unable to get to -1.3' on front,at rear we can run easily -2.3'

With camber bolts we can run easily -2.5' at front and at rear we are been able to run -3.00'

This depends on ET and size wheels,as per those pictures,we run few wheels with different camber setting

XXR 530's 8.75X18 ET20 with AD08 245/40 R18,camber settings at front -2.00' and at rear -1.5'



DRAG DR31 9JX17 ET28 with R888 255/40 R17 Camber settings -2.00' at front and at rear -1.7'



Rota Grid Drift 9.5JX18 ET38 with Vredestein 245/40 R18 camber settings -2.00' at front and at rear -2.00'





As you can see on above pictures we are running wagon and wagon have narrower rear end,on saloon or sedan you shouldn't have any problems with tucking wheels on normal size tyres(225/40) inside the arches,with 245 or even 255 its possible via pulling the arches/rolling arches and aggressive camber/toe

They fit my bug sti which is lowered on tein springs. 18's on 8.75. rear aches will need a slight roll as will sometimes catch on hard corners or a heavier car load.

Check out the thread! This was the day the springs and wheels were fitted so they have settled more since! I need my arches rolled on the rear now!

it wont make any difference just fitting it, mine looked fine but if you drove it with a passenger in the back it needed camber bolts to avoid rubbing.

you wont have any problems fitting them that cant be solved easily, id say you will have no trouble as the cars not too low but even if you do camber bolts will fix it.

 

They will fit right, trust me! U will need to pay £90 for arch roll

 

mine didnt need an arch roll just camber bolts and i was on coilovers too

 

On lowering springs not coilovers tho ?

so probably not as low then, if you want xxrs just accept you may need some work to get them to fit correctly.

camber bolts are £20, an arch roll £90 and thats the worse possible scenario.

this is how low mine was and i had no issues with camber bolts

 

Ye i had camber & arches rolled on my last bug with rota grid drifts.
Just didnt want to go out a buy coilovers if i can get away with the lowering springs that i have now, for some xxr's.

Up until this morning, I was running XXR 527's but only had them on a day or so. Not sure what the offset was but it wasn't good. Pretty sure they were 9.75" fitted with 165/35/18 ZR tyres. I have just today gone back to my stock Prodrive WRC1's as the XXR's rubbed like mad and I couldn't use full lock because they were rubbing. Was worth a shot I guess but check the pics out for that Dakar look

 

wrong width and offset id say, 8.75 wide and et 20 is what you need
