Do the 2005 models still have the chip?

AFAIK, it's possible to get a blank cut and put the old chip into the new key?

I think a new key from Subaru is around £80 plus programming. A Key Cutting place MIGHT get you a cheaper one.

OR: look on ebay for a full set of locks/ignition with keys and change the lot. IIRC some key cutting places can do programming too.

Open an account at something like Photobucket, it's free.

Up load your pic to there.

When you click on here to reply, click on the image icon at the top, it opens a small box, paste the url from the direct link on the Photobucket site, Click OK, it opens.

Yes.

All 1997 onwards cars officially sold new in the UK market (i.e not grey imports). Will have a immobiliser. As a result, every UK market Subaru made since 1997 to now (2014) has a chip-in-key immobiliser.

(unless its subsequently been bypassed/modified with alternate engine ECUs etc)
