Hi all, I have a garage clear out the other day, and found some drums of methanol that I use to use in my scoob. I had it from jennychem.

do people still run this in there scoobs?, put it up on a auction site?/this site, make a bonfire?

 

Has it been sealed? The reason i ask is it absorbs water.
What you driving now?

 

apart from one, they are all sealed. got a fireblade engine kit car for the fun driving now

not sure if i have enough mixers to go with it, and not man enough to take them straight

 

Sell the unopened ones, and dispose of the opened one properly.

 

When I had 20L of meth to get rid of from an opened container I put it in my nail of a Volvo 5L at a time to a full tank. I didn't care if it blew up as it's just our tip run car, but it actually ran great & is still going strong 2 years later.

 

Put some of the comments together and I think you have the solution:

Meth absorbs water, so putting it in the tank in big quantities (ie. 20%) could cause problems;
Another thread states that Nitro+ and Tesco Momentum have (5%?) methanol added;
A small(ish) proportion per tank didn't do anything wrong with a Volvo

So throw in a couple of litres next time you fill up. If you notice no problems (you'll probably notice a cheaper fill-up) then carry on (or increase the dose) until it's gone.

You might even find it cheaper to use the unopened ones as well, I don't know.

Have you got a huge garage or is it well filled

 

Just in case someone doesn't know; methanol will kill you or make you go blind if you drink it. It's different from ethanol ("normal" alcohol).

Yeah with the aquamist kits you can use 50 50 water and meth and the jet is located in the intercooler/pipes or inlet manifold, big in america with their **** fuel and they get good results
