Default Shes dead

Right so what can only be described as a fooking massive tree parked itself on top of my scoob that I was going to prep as a track toy.
So a headsup for anyone wanting some free spares, you are more than welcome to come and take what you like until its taken away.
I hope this isn't breaking any forum rules as im not trying to sell anything, just hoping that my misfortune can help out some other members.
im in the Northwood Hills area of west London (Hillingdon)

Take a look at some pictures anyway for your amusement.

Very luck that people weren't hurt. A 61 plate Insignia parked next door wasn't so lucky!

Im not chucking away 10 Years ncd for a car that's worth a grand tops so im just going to take it on the chin. Im pretty sure council wont pay out for "an act of god", not unless I can prove it was not maintained / trimmed properly. Also a strange one as it fell from council land onto my private road...

I don't know if any legal buffs on here could shed any light??

Owch. Good god free Subaru parts!?!?! I can hear the rumbling of feet of vultures ready rip bits off it from here LOL.

As for the tree; the owner of the tree is liable for damages it causes, ( which is why I get so pissed off at the council who won't allow me to responsibly maintain my OWN trees due to TPOs being served on them ). But seeing its the council's tree (if the thee is on council land) I can see them playing hard ball with regards to responsibility, even if they are liable.

ps. Not got a clue if free stuff is allowed to be advertised for free or not; its not mentioned in the rules so it stays.

Bad luck there matey. Gutted for you. Shame it didn't fall on one covered in stickers...

Hope you get it sorted of course the council will try to wriggle out of it but you have to be very firm with them from the off.

Any plans for a replacement?

There does appear to be some heartwood rot on the chainsawed stumps visible, so if the tree had rot they would certainly be liable. A customer of mine was sued when some overhanging branches from his property damaged a passing yacht on a trailer. Good firewood, poor wagon

Ouch that sucks mate, have you got legal cover as they could fight the council for you and not lose you NCB as it's technically not your fault!

That's really bad news but if you're handy with the spanners you could break it and get most of that grand back.

I was going to break it but the road where I live the people living there wouldn't appreciate a car being gradually broken up and looking tatty.
I have a good relationship with my neighbours' and am fortunate enough to live in a peaceful little cul-de-sac, so I wouldn't want to upset them (even if its none of there business as its private land and my parking space...).
Either way I hope that the parts taken can help someone before it taken away come the start of next week.
