OK, seeing as everyone in General Technical's ignoring me ...

Any suggestions as to why it won't lock down porperly ?? I've tried pulling the release handle a few times to see if it's stuck, but I'm running out of ideas and the winds picking up. Don't want to drive home with it flapping up and down.

Don't want to teach Grandma to suck eggs etc, however, have you checked that the bonnet stay is well out of the way - back in it's clip?

Is your bonnet still being caught on the release catch, but is sitting like you have just pulled the release cord and won't go down fully?

If so, it happened to me last month. may be your release cable jammed and take it to your scooby garage to get them to have a quick look. (they will cange the cable. about a 15 min job)

I had this, the "clip" that holds it down was all gunged up
bit of WD40 sorted it out

by clip I mean the bit that grabs the U shaped bit attached to the bonnet

damn im sooooo technical

Thumbs up

Thanks guys. I've sorted it now; phew!!

Spent the last 15mins (in the rain, in just my t-shirt; I might add ) sorting it out.

I check the catches, but couldn't see why it wouldn't lock. I then looked under the release handle and notice the cable was really slack. So checked the catch again and saw the cable was pulling back on the spring.

I've used a screwdriver to move it manually and it now closes fine. I'll give it a good squirt of WD40 when I get home.

Thanks for your help,

Stefan

It did feel a bit stiff, I wondered if it was because mine had been opened a lot more
