BMW M3 GTR anyone?
Fastbloke.
Therein lies the problem
The MY01 is not yet aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
If I had an M3 I would look at it about five times before I went into the house after a drive. As I do with my MY98.
I've always had difficulties with BM dealers and only had problems with Acton Subaru who only ever saw me once.
I see several scoobs a day now and none of them acknowledge each other so the "club factor" has gone for me.
If I get a P1 I'll spend wedge on it.
I could get an M3 and be happy as it is.
The M3 will lose maybe 10k tops in three years motoring and be very easy to sell ...

I'm not sure I would agree with the last statement. The previous M3 was the fastest depreciating BMW. You could be looking at a £20K loss in 3 years time (unless the initial 'holiday' period of the new model lasts longer due to its rarity/reputation - a bit like the Boxster or TT)

Its well documented how the last M3 missed the mark.
The new model is being touted as a very capable vehicle which has gone back to the original M3 concept. Yes, I know they will not be able to recreate this is "todays world".
I also think you would be able to drive an M3 at a sane level. Having enjoyed a test drive in a P1, I feel there is only one way I would drive it

Haven't yet driven the M3 but was offered a convertible for delivery in September.
I have viewed the M3 and had a nice long chat with the agent. The car is very, very nice. Pictures of the car do it no justice. It is totally awesome up close and personal. The only thing I didn't really take to was the shape of the rear view mirror
I will arrange a test drive. Only problem was, when I tested the MY98 I bought it ...
