Default 2nd decat pipe

Hey guys,

Wanting a new exhaust and have my eyes on the cobra exhausts, I seen they do a second decat pipe. My question is:

Can I get the second decat pipe (NOT Downpipe), centre section and back box with out needing a remap?

Or does the loss of any cat in the exhaust mean a remap, regardless?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Loss of any of the CAT,s one or both will need a re-map.

What's the car?

I took my 2nd cat out of my 03 wrx with mapping for it and was fine for over a year.

2007 sti mate, I wouldn't want to risk anything happening without a remap. (2.5 Chocolate pistons)

On the ScoobyWorld site, it states that you only need to get a re-map if the main Cat (the one in the down pipe) is removed. It dosen't mention anything about a re-map if just replacing the 2nd Cat pipe (the one between the down pipe and centre section) and replacing with a Repacement Cat pipe.

O.k mate thanks for that.

This has got me curious again. Does anyone know for sure that it will affect anything if it hasn't been remapped when the 2nd cat has been took out.

I keep getting different answers.

I'm the same as you. I've Just recently fitted a cat back system on my WRX, and thinking about replacing the 2nd cat pipe, but leaving the down pipe as it is. My understanding is that it should be ok, but am not 100% sure.
