Default EXE-TC, Ohlins or Bilstiens coilovers?

Thinking of getting a set for my hatch has anyone got any experience with either?

I have exe- tc fast road - I like them and find them a good balance of compliance with pretty firm control, but I'm not sure that they make them for Subaru anymore?

I've been running KW variant 3 on my hawk for about 4 months & no complaints so far.
The springs were changed to softer ones before fitting & on the road they only feel slightly harsher than the std shocks with tein springs that were fitted before, when pushing on through corners & flicking through cambered high speed s bends they react well, even with all the pot holes.
One thing that is a pita is access to the adjusters & they don't do any extenders for them.

Immy,
You on a spending spree to throw your cash away at the moment!

Nothing wrong with the standard set-up as a road car and when you're going to need to spend in the realms of £2k for a proper set of coilovers, sanity may start to make a guest appearance.

Why mess with the engine and suspension on the r205! You're a crazy man Immy. Seats and subtle mods fair enough but pulling stuff off that makes the r205 so special...... Dude!

I don't know mate I was never one to do dumb sh't like this, but i just see nice bits and think it would improve the handling. To be honest the current set up has not even been pushed. Am off to Dubai for a couple week, but when I get back I am defo hitting the ring!

Exactly , don't change just for the sake of it.
I'm sure the car handles fine as it is.
Even Suzuki Swifts on semi slicks were overtaking me on the Ring when it was raining, it's more down to the driver than what you have on the car (no offence meant - speaking about myself lol)

Bloody cold but good fun

The snow almost ruined it but we were lucky managed 25 laps over the weekend so was happy.
Car performed superbly and came home in the same shape Roll on June

There is a whole tuning industry that depends on us to keep it in business.... even if for the majority of us, that means buying something that will make no difference to the performance of our cars, based on our ability to drive well. Even when you get to the point of gaining an extra few seconds on a RACE TRACK, is that really worth the expense when you'll undoubtedly have to make compromises and it will cost you a shedload of cash. At the end of the day most of us drive these cars on the road and not at 9/10's our the cars ability.

My OEM suspension won't come off my car until it falls off!

If you feel like spending some money..... get a breather kit, baffled sump, engine bay swirl pot, a set of Yoko 48's and hit some public track days for some stress free FUN!

Now... if you were doing some competition events it may be a different conversation.

You do very few miles Shaun, when you use the car rather look at it parked up for months you will find the suspension wears out and becomes junk!

Immy,
take the car as it is mate
she'll be fine plus you need a car you have confidence in.
The ring isn't somewhere to be exploring the grip limits of a new set up. There is little to no room for error there.
