Hi back again
I got a 2003 wrx ppp
And today while driving it has acquired a chirping noise under boost
Took it up through the first 3 gears quite hard and when the boost kicks in it gives out a short chirping noise
No loss of psi or power .......not really bothering me really but just wondering if it my cause problems in the future
Any help would be great

mine does that in 5th gear when it hits boost also, just like a chirp then does the odd chirp through the boost - i didnt know if it was my scoop vent or what as it is in the 100mph area :s

 

Yes mine is at quite low speed just when putting food down hard only chirps for a second and when take foot of accelerator it's gone wierd ......
Oh and doing 100mph lol naughty that
Never go over 70 mph in mine haha

 

i know but what other speed can i do to be hitting boost in 5th lol

Mine does it in every gear and I thought it was the induction kit but I may be wrong. Think it sounds quite nice, people certainly look round when I pass through our village.

 

Bottom end gone.....

 

Someone mentioned to me bout bottom end .... But it sounds like coming from wastgate ??? Seen a 2007 wrx sti the other day and he had exact same sound but on lower revs when letting off the pedal .......

 

Lol yeah all the bottom ends have gone, better take it for a rebuild thanks tubby and scoobydaz
