Default bugeye fuel smell . .. .BUT !

Does it happen on any Bugeye ? And should it happen without even turning over the engine ?

I have a 02 Type UK STI and have had the smell for a while BUT , today i turned the ignition on and the heater was on so the smell wafted in before i started the engine .Its possibly been doing this all along , i just assumed it was happening while on the move.

Is this the same fault that the WRXs have in the cold weather ?Or something else ?

Yes sti's also have the fault and yes once the ignition is on the pump has primed and built up pressure in the fuel system so its possible it will smell

Why isnt yours covered in the recall ?

Is it "recall" or a "known issue" ? (is that the same thing )

I don't think it was a recall, just something Subaru fix for free if your vin number is on the list in Japan. My 02 sti was done FOC last April and so far no more fumes.

They won't do foresters even though they have exactly the same fuel rails!
