Hi,hope it arrives safely.

Some questions on the Scoob scene in Oz.
Lots of Subarus there & a big modding culture. What are the prices like in Australia?
It's expensive to ship a car(assuming from the UK) so was it cheaper than buying a similar spec car ?

Alright mate

If you dont mind me asking about the details, as I'm moving to Oz too but was going to sell mine before going and then buy another, but I was going to look into shipping mine over, not got around to it yet.

How much did it cost for shipping? And many weeks does it take?

What's the score if you want to sell it in Oz, or even ship it back home?

Hope you dont mind me asking

Bet you cant wait to get it on that hot Australian tarmac

The price in Aus for a scoob like mine would work out at about £12/£13000k!!!.i know crazy because secondhand cars hold there prices out here not like in the uk.so it works out alot cheaper to ship it over than to sell it in the uk for next to nothing. As for the scene they love them out here.they call em rexy out here.

Dont sell it,ship it you would get more for a resale out here for it.you would have to own it for 12mths before you can ship it and you have to apply for a shipping permit in Aus.I used these people to sort it all out for me,because it can be quite a headache to sort out the paperwork and hey know what is involed to shipping to Aus!http://ironladyimports.com/

Agreed, im looking to emigrate to oz myself in the next couple of years and i was gonna sell my blob if i still have it when the time comes but if all it costs is that then i may just take it with me. The only things that concern me is whether itll get there complete or with loads of bits missing or whether itll even run due to being ragged round by the shipping company employees etc.

I don't think they would be able to rag it about, I'm sure you can drive to the dock and have it locked in to the container ready for shipping, or that's what happened with the boat we had shipped over to Tenerife, its locked then and tagged and should not have to be reopened, they just stack the container then so I wouldn't worry too much about that

It takes about 6 weeks.shipping cost alone was £935.roll on roll off.all in you would be looking at about £3500,that includes rego and all other inspection costs, valuation and compliances, also cleaning the car to make sure there are no hitchikers.

You can ship it roll on roll off, which is the cheaper way and recommended by most importers,or you can use a container which will cost you alot more.On the roll on roll off your car is securely strapped down inside a ship with alot off other vehicles. You are advised not to leave any items in your vehicle,i removed my sub and the face off my head unit.As for ragging it around this does not happen over here they dont f**K when it comes to these things as i have been informed by my agent!
So at the end off the day for what you will get to selling it in the uk,which would be a joke. You are better off shipping it for what its worth and make a profit if you want to resell it in Aus!
