Default having bit of a nightmare with Bugeye STI

It gone back to the garage that i bought it from, the gear **** moves quite alot in every gear but there no noise coming from the gearbox. The garage have driven it 100miles and not once has it poped out but still has alot movement. it knocks then but only when going 10mph with foot on clutch but dont seem to be from gearbox. Engine is smooth and runs perfect.

I rang 3 gearbox places today and quote for gearbox rebuild but all of them dont think it an gearbox. The garage have checked all the mounts and there fine.

Ive been given 3 choices,

Have full refund
Have car back with 500 pound and highest warranty cover policy you can get for a year.
Or get quotes to get it fixed but when getting quotes people dont think it gearbox. Best quote i had was off scoobyclinic which worse case was 900 for full gearbox rebuild.

What you guys think, everyone in work saying get refund but i only paid 4700 for her on 70k 02 reg sti prodrive full subaru history.

Anyone else no of anything to check for.

help!!! lol

Have you had the gearshift linkage checked? Also the dogbone mount under the intercooler?

All they told me is that the mounts were all checked and were found to be good, they had top gearbox oil up and thats it.
Will email off these too and have them check it over.
It such a lovely car thats the worse thing, full service history and it all standard, not one mod so i can mod her how i like. There no griding into gear or anything just little hard get into and moves alot in all gears

Gear selector bushies, very common to ware out and give sloppy gear leaver. Wont need a rebuild as they are not inside the box but on the lever, will cost less than 100 too fix.

Alyn at as performance does an upgrade bush set. Many people on here have fitted it and had nothing but good words to say about it.

so when driving and coming on and off the pedal will that cause the gears to move alot. For example it in 4th and cruising, as soon i put my foot down the gearstick moves up towards to the middle and when i come off it goes back down

Has it been to a Subaru specialist yet? As if not i think what i would do is take it to the clinic or someone who knows what to look for, See what they think and if its a £100 fix take the £500 off them and youve got it for £4.3K with a years warranty

My advice would be to ask in the welsh section for the local scooby specialists or ask who people would recommend or go to personaly, You never know there might be someone close to you and if it is only a cheap fix its a win win situation if you ask me, Your going to get some free cash back and a 1yr warranty.

Where in wales north or south?
