Looks absolutely lovely! Without hijacking your thread how does the Type 20 compare to the Mk2 Type 25?
I'm sure the OP can tell you a lot more but the type 20 is very smooth and rapid with the power delivery - and obviously very well sorted. I looked at a Hawk in very similar spec at Iain's last year and he was quite reluctant to part with it even though it was on sale! It's a really lovely car and apparently very easy to live with day to day, think of a JDM car with the dial turned to 11 in every area.
The more fragile Type 25 is definitely a faster car and feels a lot punchier from what I can remember but came in two different states of tune - one a little bit like a Spec D, the other based on the JDM Spec C. I can't comment on the luxury model but the Spec C version is awesome.
Yer not to bad, awaiting test results from hospital at the moment 10-14 days for the lab to send results back to hospital but 8 weeks wait for a appointment lol you know how it is.
I will be at rally day and maybe the forge action day at Combe so will no doubt bump into you

cheers mate, well I carnt really comment on the type 25, I have never been in one or even seen one in the flesh! but I imagine they are very nice and faster lol. For mine though as therealgalaxy said its very smooth with its power delivery ect it is easy to live with day to day but for me I only use it on weekends due to having a van for work what I love though is that it revs to 8000rpm
Isnt the Type 20 based on the JDM model while the Type 25 is UK based and therefore likely to go bang?
Nope. Both are based on the JDM cars. Most of Iain's Subaru creations are based on JDM cars.
The type 25 is effectively a 2.0 twin scroll engine rebuilt with various forged bits and bobs to 2.5 litres. It is a custom built engine and were typically built to customer specification between 350 for the early Blobeyes to 460bhp for some of the Hawkeye builds. It is very different from the standard single scroll 2.5 that the UK cars have (and also very different to the CS400 configuration). It would seem that regular rebuilds are recommended for the Type 25 and that they are more fragile than the 2.0 builds.
The JDM 2.0 engine does seem to be the easiest route to c.400bhp with a relative degree of reliability compared to other engines which require substantially more extensive rebuilds.
