so i am sure this has been over a few times, but anyway as i will soon be getting another map tweak from duncan, have heard a few times that over the oe inlet hose under the inlet manifold, if this is upgraded to a samco hose there is deffinate gains to be had allbeit small, not particularly just talking about ponnies here but better smoother airflow and so on.
only running the standard size new turbo is a billet 20g t51 hybrid and am hoping for a shade over 400 on the blob sti, so thoughts on worththe extra 200odd before mapping the new turbo in, currently run a vf48 on the oe hose with japspeed wing kit and k&n filter is being replaced for a foot long one as well

I'd do it youve got some nice supporting mods there the hose will complement the turbo as said
Perrin
Samco although I'm sure the size isn't as perfect as the perrin
Aet do a solid intake but I phoned dsa on Thursday and they haven't made or had any in ages
Lateral makes one but it doesn't have take offs for breathers or dv so you would need an oil catch can
His are made buy sfs to custom specs

If the existing one is in good condition with no leaks, leave it alone. It can be a PITA to change (you may need to lift the manifold) If you intend to use a turbo with a big inlet (76mm) then of course, you need to change it.

does not bother me removing the inlet and engine loom etc, needs a good clean around the back anyway lol.
but when you look on the bay see loads of sellers(some well known) selling for around the £65 mark then the samco one at a good bit over 200 i have heard from a few people to get the samco one due it being re-inforced and wont collapse/suck in? seems strange at that price if it is not can anyone with one for that price confirm?
also a few subaru's back i bought a cheap one at £50 cut it in half and inserted solid steel to stop the above from happening, but sure that would affect airflow somewhat but as to how much no one will ever know unless it was back to back tested

Hi Grant
As above Viper is good Inlet hose,Perrin or Samco will be good choice too,if you can get them for good price
About those cheap inlet hoses,i've run cheap Inlet hose on our wagon before at 1.5bar on VF34 without the problem, but after we are went with MDX321T we are went with custom Inlet hose from alloy

Hi Grant
Samco people mostly prefer and really i've never tried this myself and due this I cannot comment on that
As I said, you can make yours own one from Intercooler pipework and few silicone couplers
