Default Tesco fuel loophole = £1 per litre

..made you look, made you stare
So, my W plate UK classic wagon kinda surges when under load (be it up a hill or acceleration) in 0.5sec (ish) pulses with static accelerator pedal and boost stable too. Recently been serviced although I'm gonna give the MAF a cleanout tomorrow to eliminate that. I was just wondering if anyone has had a similiar problem. I've searched and searched, maybe I've looked for the wrong keywords but I can't find anything similar so any help would be greatly recieved.
Many thanks,
Paul.

OK, on the newage it is bolted to the drivers side front strut, under a plastic cover. Not sure on a classic, do a search on images. It needs some carb cleaner (?) spraying through it.

It is what sorted my pulsing out, it felt like a slightly slipping clutch.

Overboosting by the sounds, what mods do you have on your car?
Oh and dont touch the maf, do NOT attempt to clean it, you will just break it and then you will need a new one at circa 120 quid.

Haters be hating
Anyhoo, I've blasted the boost solenoid but hasn't changed it.
Why would the MAF break? Is it unlike any other MAF which can be cleaned with carb cleaner?
Car isn't boosting when it's happening but it's got a turbo back decat SS exhaust, what appears to be a standard air filter but the bottom of the filter housing is a metal cage, not sure if this is standard or not. Nothing else on the engine that I'm aware of but it is possible, when I got it it had been mapped with the boost turned up to 1.7bar (been turned back down now).
Many thanks,
Paul.

(Alright, alright; sorry for the title but it did at least get some good answers )

Boost solenoid, vacuum pipe or the restrictor pill. Mine did the same so got it remapped and a 3 port put on.

Yes yes yes that man Lordy lordy hallelujah
Is it just a replacement then? And is it worth going to Subaru or is it possible to get somewhere else?
Oh and Davec30: I changed the coil pack, seemed to make a slight difference but this may have been a placebo.
