Question

I will be fitting a scoobysport back box next week, and judging by some good reports here on scoobynet I am also going to get the ITG panel filter too.

My question is, what sort of improvement am I likely to get over standard (the car is completely standard at the moment)?

I know its going to sound a hell of a lot better for a start, but what about torque and bhp etc

Many thanks
James

James,

You will get an increase in BHP and Torque but it will only be slight as you are retaining the original cats in the exhaust.

The car will feel more positive low down the revs (off boost) and will rev a bit better. It will feel like you have gained more torque and bhp than you actually have because the engine will rev a bit freer.

Your best bet would be to remove the centre section cat (as you will still pass the MOT with the downpipe cat). The gains will then be more noticeable.

It is possible to replace the downpipe and retain the centre cat, but it is unsure as to whether you will pass the MOT and road side emmissions.

Of course the other alternative is to remove both cats and put the centre cat on at MOT time, and keep your fingers crossed.

Cheers

Iain

Yup with squizz on this one, the intercooler splitter has worked for me. The real test will be summer though, if we ever get one

This splits the air evenly over the intercooler, rather than just using the back half in standard form. This is mainly useful in the summer months to help keep intake temps a bit lower = more power
