Default Been offered a L reg Sti as a swap l692 mbv

First of all I've had a gold chain of mine on the bay and this guy seems very intrested in a swap I already have a scooby so I would want to sell this on as its expensive for me to insure as my scooby is my second car (toy) while my gsx1400 is parked up

Reg.l692 mbv
Black sti import
Guy has said he has owned it a month and just has logbook mot and previous receipts he does not se to know a lot about them and I'm just waitng for him to send me some more pictures

To me it seems to good to be true
What are these worth roughly I know it's hard with limited info I've taken it with a pinch of salt but even if the engine was not the best these are preety rare so any info would be great or does anyone know the car

Cheers wes

Depends on the condition of the car really, the engine will be worth around £300 even if it's fubared.

Also depends if there's a logbook loan on it which I would suspect there is given the type of deal

Why does he want rid of it after only a month of ownership?

Is it a genuine STI or is it just another eBay wrx with a few STI bits bolted to it ??
Genuine first gen STI's are rare now and even rarer in black.

what does the gold chain waigh, scrap is around 13quid and 16 if ya go gold street birmmingham. standered scoob is worth 1000 to 1500 on that year, ask him to send you the codes off the vin plate. it should have a sa (code) pink stickered ecu, like mine, also ask him what number it is. mine is num 50 of a 100 made in april 1994, the last few months of that year, there was 200 made per month, so the real rare ones are of the first 100.
one ended on fleabay last week in silver with goodies dident make 1100.
the gold chain will sell easyer then the scoob trust me.

The applied model code is meaningless on the early cars as they took WRX's from production line and modified them.
Only way to tell is by someone who knows what they are looking at to cast their eyes over it.

Get the pics up and I'll tell you what it is, if its a genuine STI in tidy condition then its worth a punt as they are getting hard to find.
