Default WR1 values still baffle me :S

Before I sold my Hawkeye I had a look at these and did think they were quite nice. Lovely black interior much like the Spec-Cs and I'm quite a fan of the unique colour scheme. I even liked the delivery when I took an admittedly tatty one out for a test drive but how can these be worth 5 or 6k more than a PPP model of the same year?

Am I missing something?

(BTW, I'd willingly pay a premium for a RB320, so I'm probably answering my own question here!)

And cost twice as much to run what with the Evo-esque schedules. Also a mystery!

More so, if you wanted the better seats in the RB...!
As standard, the the RB came with blue STi Type UK seats.

I currently run a WR1 as my daily car.

Yes i change my oil every 4k but thats by choice.

My front pads have only been changed once since owning it for over 3 years and i have put over 30k miles on it

Jesus, I'm assuming they supply a Playboy model to apply the window tints at that price!

its a Prodrive specced & modded limited run car in the same vein as a P1, RB320, etc........therefore they had a premium cost when new and have held their value accordingly

How many Type 25's were made? Looked on the Lichfield website but it doesn't say.

Depends on if you are counting the MK1(Blob) or MK2(Hawk)version of the type-25, The Blobs i think there was around 40 to 50 made and the Hawks i`m not so sure but i think it was less

Are the Type 25's recognised by Subaru as special editions like the WR1 & RB320 ?

As above No they are not part of any official Subaru Special Edition line up but when they were purchased from Litchfields after being converted into a Type20/25 from either a JDM sti or JDM Sti Spec-C they were given a warranty by Litchfields

Don't know for sure, but I believe there were just under 60 altogether. Mine is number 27, built in March 2005 and there were a few MY05 cars built after mine. The Hawk version took a long time coming while Iain developed the Cosworth engine, so there were only very small numbers of those.
I would argue that there were three versions, the pre-MY05 cars, the MY05 cars (everything was being constantly developed, and the suspension is very different) and the Cosworth version. Some cars were conversions of existing cars, rather than built from new, and one MY05 went back to Iain and he rebuilt it with a Cosworth engine.

Looking at various classifieds doesn't seem to be much difference between WR1s and PPP STis, nothing like £5-6000 more like £500-1000.

If I'd bought a WR1 new,I'd be pretty annoyed that the year later 05 STi is a better car.
