Default Bug STi: JDM vs Prodrive?

Hey guys,
Long time no proper post! I am thinking of returning to Scooby ownership after a couple of years, and had been originally looking at getting another Blobeye as these have always been my favourite Newage (I have had two in the past) but I have been drawn to the Bug STi which has really grown on me, and you seem to get an awful lot of car for the ££££’s nowadays.

So as above really, I know the Prodrive looks better but what are the main mechanical differences between the JDM STi and the Prodrive STi? Anything special to look out for when buying? Any threads that may be of interst to me, post a link (my searchfu is weak!)

Many thanks in advance

I am by no means the expert but I think the JDM is a superior car. IIRC:

Stronger Gearbox and DCCD
Stronger Engine, higher revving

Were the bug JDM's also Twin Scroll or did that come with the Blobs?

Yeah I think the twin scroll was '03 on? How are the engine/gearbox stronger on the bug? I thought the gearbox would be the same, although did I read somewhere that they have a closed deck block?

Cheers

Rust!

That's a good thing to look out for with Bugs, especially on the front subframe.

Yeah, twinscroll was 03 onwards for the JDM.

The gearbox is basically the same, but some consider it stronger due to the lower ratios (with the exception of 1st gear), so there is less load on the gears in that sense.

No CDB. All Semi closed.

Ah right cool going to be looking for one with a few bits on (coilovers/wheels/and a stage one engine spec) althoug I may well go for a Blobeye again, I am feeling the lure of the Bug as they look boss nowadays in STi form.
