Hi just picked my girlfriend up driving home coming alone the road ready to turn into my street slowed down dropped from 4th to 2nd turned into my street put my foot down and gearbox started banging pulled outside my house and now it's not selecting 1st and 2nd properly but every other gear fine but when you pull forward it starts juddering and banging. So I turned the engine off put it in netual pushed it backwards fine pushed it forwards it moved then crunched as if it was in gear can anybody help

 

You have probably stripped the teeth off 2nd gear, change the box or maybe a rebuild from Api

 

How much is a gear box rebuild or would a five speed sti gearbox and diff be a good swap mines a my 00 turbo 2000 my mate thinks hes still got a low mileage gearbox and diff of a sti

 

Dont know you would have to ring mate. The sti might be an option but mate sure you ue he rear sti diff if its different ratio to you current one
