Default 6 speed dccd clunk?

Have a clunking noise in the 6 speed dccd wr1 when turning in any direction ... The car drives good when foot down in straight lines and even when cornering what could be the problem as its been happening for a while now

Thanks

Could be any number of things e.g. driveshafts, propshaft, diff itself or noise could be non diff ererelated and may be suspension related e.g. lose hub, wheel, ball joint, drop link etc. When was the diff and gearbox fluid last changed and are you sure the diff is not stuck in a more locked setting somehow.

When my hawkeye is set to auto I get a bit of clunking when moving slowly with the steering on full lock. This is totally normal and is just the diffs

What car have you fitted it too? if it has the auto function switch it off and wind the control wheel right back and give it a try, should be quiet then, but you will get clunking at slow speeds when the dccd is wound forward.

It sounds as though you are in auto mode, basically you need to switch it to manual, what you are hearing is the differential doing its job, in open (fully back on manual) you wont get any noise, if you wind it up a little to say the first orange, you will begin to "feel" the differential working (during turning).
If you need a demonstration then im back in Manchester next week

Tony
