Has anyone removed the wind deflectors off their car. If so does it damage the paintwork underneath.

Thanks

Luke

I did, last year.
Hell of a job!!!!!!
I used a craft knife and carefully cut through the adhesive foam stuff. Once removed I used some Adhesive remover (autoglym) which took the best part of a week.
A few t-cuts and polishes later looked great. I thought it looked a lot better with them off.
I noticed that the paint worked underneath was slightly marked due to the adhesive obviously a slight reaction to the paint.
You can only tell when you get about 10cm away from it,and look really really close. But I'm a perfectionist, it probably wouldn't be seen by most people.

hope this helps.

Cool

I had to pull mine off, as it broke when some scumbag tried to steal the scooby. Mine came off easily, but it left behind the solvent/adhesive. Still picking mine off by hand, but with hot water it becomes gooey, and should scape off with finger nails. Might take a week though - be warned. Obviously when it's cold it's rock hard. The solvent/adhesive doesn't bother me to much.
