Default 3inch or 2.5 inch exhaust

Hi evryone,
I'm currently running 407 BHP on my 96 STI with a 3 inch system with 2.5 inch flanges. Next month I'm having a remap to run 20 percent methanol & also for a track legal exhaust system.
My dilemma is should I stay with the 2.5 inch flanges or would there be any benefit to go to a full 3 inch system now?
Thanks.

Get the 2.5 flange cut out and replace with 3" pipe and flanges. That's what I did.

Go bigger especially if you are running that kind of bhp. I'm running with a full 3" system. So I would suggest the same to you.

Nossy,
What power are you running, what system is yours & is it track legal?
Thanks.

I'm running less power then you but I needed it to max my car. The turbo is holding me back at the moment. I'm not sure on the make but it's on a receipt somewhere. The system isn't actually that loud even without the bung. It's quieter then most of the popular one avalible on the market so it is definitely track legal.

I'm using this ...

Great sound without being over the top loud. Superb quality and a good price too.
