Pretty sure I got mine via the Scoobynet Shop when it was open, but as it's closed at the mo you can't get one.

I would have thought that the wizzard of wax would have them though, but not too sure.

 

Somebody on here said Costco were selling them for a fiver!! He offered to get a few if people were interested

Mark did used to sell them. I believe Autoglym sell them now and you can get them in Halfords. I did also see them in one of those catalogues that got pushed through the door for about 6 quid as well.

I've used one for ages - recommended as it means you can most of the water off the car very quickly. Important when you live in area that has a lot of limescale in the water and your car is black!

Is the one in the sunday glossy smaller than the one mark sells.
i paid £15 for mine off him.

B&Q sell them for a few quid, in all different sizes. After washing the car whizz over all the panels and glass using a blade and then chamois off any excess water. Saves time and no water marks on the paint either.

 

Do you know what they are called in b&q as I have had a quick look on the website but couldn't find anything.

Also what size is the most useful?

I got mine from Halfords - Turtle Wax one.

Great for doing the roof etc and then just finish off quickly with a leather.

Yes I still do the California Waterblade. However due to the small quantities I buy and what with exchage rate and international freight I cannot compete on the low price spoken about here.

However, I have got my pencil sharpened this afternoon. If I had a group buy of 50 then I can offer them at £10 each inclusive of postage.

The idea is that they are meant to be less abrasive than a chamois leather. Whether that is the case or not, I can't really say. I tend to use mine to get most of the water off and then finish the car leather - it's a lot quicker than doing the whole car with just a leather.

This topic came up some months ago and s few people complained about scratches with it.

Has anyone found this to be the case, especially with Subaru chocalate quality paint?

BTW I tried this idea about 10 years ago with an old wiper blade but stopped due to my neighbours laughing too much....

 

I bought one of these a few months back.Since given up using it, and gone back to the "AutoGlym synthetic leather" as i noticed slight marks appearring in the paint.(i.e. very faint long straight lines).

And before anyone says it, yes i do make sure the car is clean, as it takes in the region of 5-6 hours for me to get the car to a state that i am happy with

Seem to remember another thread a few months ago about these, and someone else had had the same problem.

use a blade all the time and never have scratching- thinking about it how can you? the thing is soft rubber so that cant scratch, the only way it would is if you have stuff on the car after washing it. you just need to make sure the car is very clean and keep the blade spotless while using it.

i would never own a leather again- it would be like selling the oven and roasting things over the fireplace !

Be careful as I git a couple of lovely scratches thanks to my Turtle wax jobbie. There was a tiny speck of tar stuck to the bonnet and when I ran the blade over it it gave me two lovely crescent shaped scratches I think the paint on my STI is MUCH easier to scratch then my RB5.
