60 fooking quid

These are pretty standard across lots of jap stuff, inc motorcycles. I'd look for something from another model and pay 1/3 of that massively inflated rip off price. You'll just need to find out the opening temp for different models.

Nothing wrong with the standard item, but you get cooler running temps with one fitted If your tracking your car or driving hard on the road this is a bonus for little money IMHO Also they have the benefit of failing open whereas the standard one will fail closed and happily boil itself.

Bit more info in here I have found much reduced running temps similar to the figures quoted in here

Not quite £100, more than most but worth it if you need it and if it's in stock

NEVER, in all my days of motoring, have I EVER had ANY thermostat fail closed.

I'd not think it was possible, tbh.

Fools and their money are easily parted alcazar!

I have said my bit already and have been duly ignored.

Do you rate these Stu? Have been told by the guys who fitted my new radiator its runnin too hot (acording to the diagnostics) they suspect the thermostat so thought I would get one of these instead of standard.

I fitted one to my hawkeye, used to run 88-95 on the standard stat. Now I run 78-85 tops. Hot Idle 91 after a run. have fitted them to the other 2 scoobs with similar results. The new 95 classic 78-85 and hot idle 88 tops. Doubt all you want the temps don't lie I would recommend them on a 2.5 for sure ! my 2.5 always ran a little hotter than my 2ltr classics

I also use Motul Inugel (orange) which is also a very good coolant
