If you can't afford a map then why are you going to waste away the cash you currently have on another small mod?

The sensible thing to do would be to save up a bit more cash for a ecumap and get it all running properly as that alone will probably give the best performance.

ok , ive been told that you cant map my ecu , being a my99 uk 2000 e3 ecu , so have been looking at apexi and the like , with the cost of them being £ 400 ??min thought i would buy something else and hope for future cash , i dont know what to do , can my ecu be remapped ?? if so then thats the next thing to do ,
cheers chris .

Not sure on what map it is but yeah they cost like £400-500 (correct me if Im wrong) so if it was me, I would save up for that and not bother with any more mods until that is done.

if you have the original my99 uk ecu,it can be mapped via ecutek,it will be pointless spending out on mapping and leaving the tiny td04 on,it wont make 300bhp with this turbo,i sold my vf24 for £180 and will make 320bhp.
so food for thought, you are unlikely to see 280bhp with a td04l.

injectors, headers, decat, front mount all require a remap.
your heading for disaster if you dont get it mapped asap.

basically,if you change moreless anything it will need a remap,if you are changing things and still driving it on boost then be prepared for an engine rebuild.
thats just the way it is,i dont fit any mods until im just about to get mapped.

you are also probably making less power now with the mods than before you started and damaging your engine also.

now i do disagree ! my car may not be as quick as most on here but one thing i do no its quicker than it was when i got it! as for engine damage you may/ will ? be right ,a decat pipe would create more power for a start ! fine it may not be running as good as it could but defo better!
cheers chris

i would phone a tuner fella and ask for advice.
power aside you are running the risk of blowing your engine.
