type r gearbox help
i have a type r with dccd what the max BHP
can i put through it, i am going to build a EJ22 engine and if i cannot use this box what one will be the best

hi alan would the 6 speed cope with around 500-600 bhp?

im sure it be a version 3 like mine im 1997 v3 . u will be good to 390 400 but can go at 350 but can go to 420 be fine

ok i am after more than 400 bhp what would be the best gearbox to replace mine to cope with 500 plus bhp

I know someone that ran a typr r box to 500 for a coupe of years, but does depend on driving style and luck.
