One of the ladies at my company, wants to give her hubby a present of a driving day at a race track. Not a track day ala SIDC, but one of those where you can drive a variety of provided cars, possibly even single seaters.

Whilst he is foremost a biker, I have never seen one of these events for bikers and I dont think he'll take his own bike on track.

Can anybody recommend a good day, preferably up north, though she may consider Brands or Silverstone. Oulton would be ideal, as its close.

Thanks.

Oulton Park do these sort of events, as I was at one about 10 years ago. Managed to spin, but it wasn't my fault (even the marshall agreed, and I got to continue!).

Knockhill, as well as doing the variety of cars thing, also do a bike equivalent. Check out their website at

Having done it, I can recommend the Tangerine F1 Experience at Mallory Park - you drive a variety of cars/single seaters and end up in a 1988 Tyrrell F1 car. Pah - old clapped out junk you might say - but I still managed to get 165mph out of it down the pit straight on a wet track, cold brakes and semi slick hillclimb tyres.......

- tell him to take a pack of Pampers.....
