Question

Could someone please point to the link where all of the results are for the recent PE RR day for 01's.

I have just fitted a boost guage and was wondering how much max boost should be. My dealer told me that my car was running 15.5 PSI (from the select monitor) but I don't know how accurate that is, also, I have just fitted a guage (thanks Jamie), and it was showing arounf 17 PSI in 4th/5th.

What is the max std boost for an '01 with PPP, I had heard that Prodrive said 1.2 Bar (17.4 PSI), if this is the case then mine looks OK.

Cheers,
Darren.

DT,

Sounds about right. The Select Monitor is very accurate and 15.5 psi sounds about right as they are supposed to run 1.0 bar (14.49 psi). The PPP "fools" the ECU into thinking that max boost is the same as standard when in fact it's more. I don't know what a "standard" PPP is supposed to run but PPP + full De-cat seem to run about 1.2-1.3 bar held (17.4-18.8 psi), with peaks of about 1.4 bar (20.2 psi).

Bear in mind that gauges are often not that accurate and that you have to read peak and held values when evaulating boost figures.

Matt

Deja vu, I remember telling someone that 15.5 PSI was too low for a MY01 PPP recently, this seems more on the nose. Of course I forgot to mention/think that the select monitor lies on a MY01 PPP! So your dealer obviously thinks PPPs run 15.5 PSI. The Select Monitor probably displays it as a std MY01 ECU too. Not ideal is it?

Thanks guys, I ran it for about 120 miles today and it consistently held 17 PSI (on the guage) which sounds about right (assuming that the guage is not spot on).

Cheers,
Darren.

PS - why is it that since I fitted the boost guage the car now seems to go even better :-)
