Default my 98 turbo 2000 is costing me nearly £2200 :( lol

hi,

when i bought my turbo 2000 98 reg, it cost me 1400 quid cas it had a massive scrape down the rear quarter and the passenger rear door was this anyones on the forum S760 BBF was the reg it has a GT motorsport sticker on the tailgate?, it was a reddish blue one, well anyways i paid that, the person who sold me it put on the ebay add oh it only cost 120 to fix! lol yer right i thought, i knew it would be more. well took it to bodyshop he said 500 for the rear quarter and the door fixed and he will do the other side aswell cas it had a few parking dents on rear quarter. i also bought a decat down pipe and centre section, oh also the tax and mot run out about 2 months after i got it! so thats another 250, plus the tax and mot!, im just getting a tad gutted ive spent 2200 plus tax and mot on a 98 reg turbo2000 with 105k miles on! lol i could have bought an STi and as i keep reading on all these nice scoob sti's with 350+bhp all the way up to 600hp it pisses my off mines 212 lol

i guess on the upside i will have a pretty clean turbo 2000, when the panel beater started to DA the rear quarters it had filler and under the filler was rust on the rear quarters and on one side a fuKin hole with filller! cowboys eh! , so thats all welded up and done properly

anyways happy scoobying!

98 "S" reg..........be careful what you do with it, not mappable, and changing the engine/intake/exhaust much will need mapping. NOT mapping it will destroy the engine.

I know......mine is one.

I had to laugh at this thread! I just bought a cheap 95 on eBay, only paid £1000 for it which i thought was cheap however i now need to sort a rocker cover leak which looks like a crap job plus the bodywork is more tatty then i thought so i have got to do quite a bit of spraying, only plus side is being white and having a spray gun etc i might be able to do it myself..... hopefully! The question i keep asking myself is so i stick with it and make it a nice classic shape or just sell it on, i only picked it up yesterday!!!

Keep with it, rocker is a fiddly job but if done right you will only need to do it once. I was just seriously unlucky, the joys of subaru ownership!!!

I think i will stick with it, i guess bodywork can be sorted out and as long as the engine is fine thats all that matters.

Have you done your gasket? Do you have to strip the top of the engine off?

Rocker cover is a mucky job, you lose some oil too, so watch out for that. Best done from underneath.

Use genuine gaskets, and plenty of sealant.

on the upside the engine has never leaked a drop of oil, no leaks coming from the engine anywhere, and when the mechanice drove it, he saids he has driven loads of scoobs 98 onwards and they all feel like tin cans, and my one feels tight and drives great

so if i fit a whole de-cat exhaust and a dump valve ill need a map? **** sake im skint atm!! lol how the hell am i gunna afford and aftermarket ecu and a map!?!?! it gets worse! lol
