Question Jumping out of gear?

Hi,

My car (MY2000 JDM STi wagon) has just started to jump out of fifth gear when lifting off, anyone know what might cause this?

Cheers,
Paul

I would have agreed with you 8 or 9 years ago as there was an issue with the torque setting on that nut but at 11-12 years old I would say it was wear and tear, normal cause would be people holding/pushing the gear leaver forward/back against the gear gate aiding premature wear to the synchromesh.

Mine was doing this... eventually refused to go into reverse, and then got stuck in reverse.

Silly money to rebuild it...

Good luck

My friends my00 uk turbo was jumping out of fith, we stripped the box and found the the nut on the end of the input shaft was loose enough to spin with your fingers. Bit of locktite and re torqued and its been fine since

Yup, that was it! The car may be that old, but it was sat in a dry storage unit for 9.5 years..........
