Default Inner CV grease

Replacing my outer CV boot on my blobeye and when I pulled the gator off the Inner CV the grease looked like it had water contamination as in it was very runny and a grey tinge to it.
If the boot was split then it would have run out?
Question is is the CV grease the same for the outer joint and the inner?

Is there anything I have missed or need to look at?

Also to top up the gearbox oil what oil is recommended?

Cheer peeps.

If you have a WRX, then the standard manufacturer gear oil used was, Castrol Syntrax. I remember having a CV boot replaced and the new one came with grey tinged grease.
