Angry LIVERPOOL & VICTORIA won't insure a 320R

Well after nearly 11years of scooby ownership mostly insured with L&V insurance

since 2002 ish L&V was happy to insure my last 3 scoobs, MY02UK Sti PPP, MY00 STi Type R coupe and my My06 Type 20 350bhp. said they would not insure my new 320R.

I did explain that it was a new UK Car and less powerful than my present JDM Type20

but he spoke to the under-writers and they said sorry we won't insure a 320R nor a 330S even the chap on the phone was Gob smacked that after this amount of time they wouldn't insure me for either

I thanked them very much for the past 10 years and cancelled my present insurance from the 10th July

That still seems a bit high...for a standard UK car!
MY07 RB320, with mods declared is about £350, fully comp with protected NCB!

I guess more and more Insurance Companies will shy away from High Risk vehicles.

As more and more get into the hands of chavs on Council Estates - seeing as they are so cheap mow - the more the claims will become a real issue with the Insurance Industry.

Nothing will be denting your excitement, I guess?

Blimey.........I'm in my 50's and havn't had a claim since dinosaurs roamed the earth and mine is nowhere near £350

Have you mislead the insurance co as to what car you have..........ticked the "sport" box perhaps?

That's what I was thinking, it can't be right, or a clerical error...

When I was renewing my ins recently I noticed on a certain website I could insure a 22b for about £260! Obviously an error but is imagine it'd stand legally.

Been with them sine i've had the RB from new
And when I first changed over with them from MY05 STi Type UK, they had to really search for the RB320 model, as being new wasn't initially on their system....
Hasn't budged much since new, just a little extra for declared mods

Must be 36 in net years rather than real life age, you always deduct 10yrs online

Not being funny mate but if you've got those mods and haven't declared them then more fool you. Ask moley where you'd stand if you had a bump. The only people who will be 'lol' so to speak will be your insurance company when you ask them why they won't pay out. U mite aswell as saved the 2 grand and risked the small fine and points as have an invalid policy.

Apologies if I've misread your post and your unmodified. It just reads to me that your telling porkies.......

He must live in the middle of nowhere (like me but with a much better postcode ) and the forces normally pay a higher premium due to the risk of their job.

Tony
I've been with Greenlight for many years, when I wanted to change to my 330S they initially said no.
This was purely down to the value and if I remember correctly the limit was 30K
However, they called me back after speaking with the underwriters who changed their minds and said yes.
To insure the 330S compared to my previous 05 STI PPP was £20 pounds more.

My renewal came in earlier in the year and it was down £20 to £700.
Now £700 is N.Ireland prices so I'd have thought UK prices would have been a bit cheaper.

Gary also quoted me and was extremely helpful, however they were not competitive on that occasion

Cheers
Shaun
