Thumbs up

I've just sold my RA and am in the market for another car. What should I get for my 10k?

My priorities are the following:

Performance
Handling
Comfort (least important of the lot)
Relatively cheap i.e not absurd running costs
Reliability
Low depreciation (as I won't be using the car that much)

Dreamily I have been considering a TVR V8S (but every owner I have spoken to is a To$$er, and it is bound to not start when I need it) a TVR S3, an older heavily modded Scoob, a newer almost standard UK scoob and a 3 series coupe. Might stretch the budget further if there is something tantalising around (some guy offered me his Chimaera for 12k.....). A fast convertible would be nice, but I can only think of TVRs and am paranoid about reliability and running costs of those that I can afford. So basicaly I am after suggestions. Anyone?

Cheers

Mike

Mike,

How about an Integra Type-R or even Civic Type-R? There is an Integra for sale in the Private section. Might be worth a punt?

Clean, low mileage late Toyota Celica GT4 or Nissan Pulsar GTIR. Both excellent, fast 4WD cars and reliable too. There's a lot of **** about unfortunately, but you'll find good examples of both if you're persistant.

A good 944S2 or a high miler 968 ???
Any of the options quoted (including mine!) mean *BIG* maintenance costs though......other than a newer scooby !! And even that aint exactly cheap !
Duff the BMW option tho' and the TVR option sounds like too much trouble by half.....

I just sld my M5... 4k bills last year. Now the Proud owner of a Nissan Sunny 1.4, and A Caterham.

I'd go for a non-evo M3, but don't expect cheap bills - look at 1500- 2500 per year. or why not a '97 scoob or Evo?

Paul.

Sunny GTI-R/Pulsar - you can get a low milage good condition one for £7-8K and spend the left over on some handling mods to make it even more super than it already is!!!
