I had a genome backbox fitted along with a prodrive sportscat and compared to the standard cat pipe and prodrive backbox it seems pretty tame anyone experience the same?? is it worth going for a de-resonated centre section to beef it up?

I have a genome on my jdm twinscroll. I have standard downpipe cat and a deresonated centre pipe and it sounds great never heard one on a uk car but removing the resonator can only help. Don't think I would want it any louder tbh as it screams on boost.

 

It will help yes. Personally they look better than they sound over rated and over priced all for being 'JDM Yo ! '

Scooby Sport has a much better and deeper sound, Genome is a little raspy Best thing about the Genome is how much you can sell them on for

 

Just throw the towel in and go for the Blitz R. I had several system before going for the Blitz combined with the Prodrive Sports cat. This set up was simply awesome.

 

i just got a full decat revolution system fitted today, lifetime long system and i gotta say its the nuts , previous car had a miltek and that was good as well, blitz is to loud for me personally

 

To the OP, just change the resonated section simples

 

these have an aquired taste sound... they arnt a loud backbox at all. if you want something loud you need a blitz or afterburner vortex etc.

Could not of put it better myself. Had one and and wanted to get rid but for how long it took me to find one and the cost I stuck with it although I never really got on with it.

Anyhow you have a buyer already lol, knew that would be on the list for your RA pal lol

I agree they are nice and subtle about town but sound lovely on a B road blast, suits me perfectly.

I was also very pleased after changing from a fujitsubo jap exit system as angled exits seem to hang very low down on the car, something to watch out for if you are considering a change.

 

 

I used to have a prodrive backbox on mine and then changed it for a genome as I wasn't happy with the noice from teh prodrive. I thoughyt the prodrive was even quieter than the genome. Before I had the prodrive I had a full 3inch decat which was unbelievably loud! It's defo a horses for courses whin it comes to exhausts and noise.

I really like the noise from my genome and the looks. I'm doing a bit of work on the scoob at the min (new turbo, FMIC plus other bits) not looking forward to deciding what to do with the exhaust as I'm drawn to a full 3inch decat for the power but really like the genome so don't want to change it If only they did a 3inch genome!

 

i went through quite a few backboxes including the genome.........always end up going back to h&s scoobysport,by far the nicest sound.
