Sold one recently, it was sold twice when the buyers either didn't show up or pay!!

Didn't get what I really wanted for it but there is no market for these cars just now.

I got a lot of interest in the car though and it did sell in the end!

many many cars bought and sold..the ones i have sold i am 100% honest about everything so there are no suprises or arguing when they come to pick it up i also promise nothing i can not deliver..
ive sold a 30ft fiat motorhome
3 range rovers
1 shogun
a volvo t5
a 420 bhp astra
a polo i honstly could go on and on lol
Buying i always ask loads of questions including asking for vin chasis number so i can do a check, everytime someone is hiding something when i ask for this they tell me it was stolen or crashed or whatever lol

If its worth £4200 at trade in, why bother paying to advertise it and risk being £714 worse off on Ebay?

Every car I have purchased off ebay has been a dog bar 3. two the scooby & cav turbo were from forum users and were perfect. The car I've currently got was £300 and I was so wearious but it just failed its mot on Front brake pads. not bad for a 17yr old car with 170k on the clock...

It was a company called premier cars that won mine! No contact or deposit or payment!

Got their number from eBay but no answer then the phone was switched off. So just relisted it!

EBay is full of messers and timewasters stick it up on here and on pistonheads first to see how it goes, remember things are slow at the minute so hang in there.

Just advertise it correctly with as much information as possible:-
MY02 52 plate STI type UK "bugeye" none prodrive etc
Say if it has full service history, when the cambelt was changed last, ensure its mechanically good and if there is anything needed doing that you point that out.
Point out the length of tax and test left, hpi it and show the certificate (point that out) as it will be a good selling point.
List any modifications that are not factory standard too, how many owners etc.

Tony

PS, wash/polish/vac out and put as many pictures up including the blemishes!

Having read all the above, I think your pricing needs to be made more a little more clear, are you after £3'500 or £5'000?

Also having looked at the advert it could do with a bit more honesty and comprehensiveness. Im not syaing you hiding anything from a potential buyer, but the more you put into an advert the better, plus it will save you receiving pointless calls from potential buyers.

Put the date and miles of the service stamps as you say it has FSH, and state if its had a cam belt change / when / where. If you have the standard STI wheels, put them back on if the rest of the car has been kept standard. Few Pics of the rest of the car, Engine, Dash, Front driver seat, each wheel, rear of car. Try using a scenic place to take your photos..

I have sold and bough many car on eBay, and as such have seen some right sh!te examples, but if the advert is appealing and honest it will get me interested.

Sold:
FTO GPvR
FTO GPX
MY01 WRX Wagon
MY02 WRX
UK300
Peugeot 106
Picasso
MGF
list goes on, yes there is a few n@bs out there that are only interested in test drives or wasting your time, but there is some folk that are genuine buyers.

Rob

Bought and sold car's and bikes on ebay. Its good because it reaches a wide market. Put your mobile number in the listing, All but once the person came to view and bought there and then. Then i pulled the listing stating item not longer available. Saves on the final fee. Also put "reserve the right to end listing as advertised elsewhere".
