Default smart alternator?

Can anyone tell me if the impreza wrx has a smart alternator? And if anyone has heard of this and can explain how it works and how to avoid a flat battery?! Oh and its a 2005 model.

Or, rather than look a *** with sidelights constantly on, leave your blower on a low setting....same job

Fan and HRW aren't enough to get mine running. I have to use sidelights or battery doesn't charge.

Its all a bit strange ive just read its more common on 04 on cars and like you say sidelights appear to be the best cure. Some have been tested by subaru and come back with no faults. I guess as long as there is a way to get them charging thats the main thing.

My specialist came back with no faults having checked everything. Fortunately they know the Impreza inside out so were able to correctly diagnose and advise. Try the sidelights and see how you get on

Looking at my volt meter on my turbo timer, the sidelights and the fan both have the same effect
