Unhappy HELP!!! knocking noise! dif? gearbox?

Hi, can anyone help me please? suddenly today i have had a knocking noise when car is moving! under load it goes quiet but when u coast it is really loud! the faster you coast the faster the knocks, any ideas??

it still makes it when not in gear at all! weird! dont wanna risk driving it

when not in gear and coasting, gears are still spinning in the box. could be end float on one of the shafts allowing a gear/s to clip the casing inside somewhere. is it definately intime with wheel speed and not engine speed?

Check teh sales/breaker section


Also worth checkeing the propshaft mount. If the rubber fails, the propshaft flaps about and bangs agaist the floorpan.

When buying new gearboxes, always make sure its compatible with your rear diff, if you don't you'll wreck it.
