Default Diy arch rolling

Has anyone done the Diy arch rolling with the heat gun and nylon hammer method with any success on their classic rear arches? Seen a few vids on utube n make it look easy, just fitted a wide setof 18's n rubbing like a bitch on rears . Thought about buying an arch roller but seems like dead money

I used a metal hammer to smash my arches up, had to do all 4 though!

Tried bending the lip round carefully but just wasnt happening so i pulled out the hammer Worked a treat, even without a heat gun the paint only chipped and flaked away on the inside area where i was hitting. Im sure the same thing would happen when using an arch roller aswell as paint doesnt bend or stretch very well....

Looking for some pics now for you

When you hammered the arches did it distort the arch on the outside ie ripples/ dents etc, and did it do the trick as mine rubs just turning a corner slightly fast and goin over dips in the road

Did the same to one of my old cars Tom. Hammer out!!!! Same as you, only cracked paint on inside which I touched up and re-sealed immediately. Looked perfect on outside, no distortion! Sorted!

Did mine in the pits at a sprint event, used a hammer, cloth and pushed against the outside of the arch with my hand as I hit the inner part. I few flakes of paint came off but there was a bit of rust anyway so wasn't that bothered. No dents or ripples and once the arches were touched up looks spot on
