I've been having a problem with judder on my front discs. I spoke to the supplier about this and they said i need to get them skimmed on the car. Has anyone ever had to do this or even heard of it ?

The correct way to skim a disc is off the car , you can get a machine that will skim discs on the car , but if you have a warped flange , or a rust build up on the hub throwing the discs out , then the discs would be machined out of true to allow for a problem elsewhere.
If your stuck getting them done , I can do them for you
Cheers Ian

which would suggets there is a problem with the new part...........
it needs investigating properly to correctly identify your issue and then as Ian says i personally wouldn't ski on the car but you may well require them "trued" depending on what the problem is/how it was caused??

If they have blue lines on them it sounds like they are overheating , check all your pistons are free to move in the calipers , if they are dragging , it will overheat the discs and can warp them

If it was a piston why would the line be in the same place on both discs. And shouldnt it still happen on the standard discs ? MVS measured the discs on the car and said there was about 3 thousands run out on them. which they said was not excessive.
Not sure if this is relevent but it is Brake Tech Discs and Blue Stuff pads ?

If was on both discs , its unlikely to be a sticking piston then , had you driven the car very hard to get them hot when you noticed they went blue , can you put a picture up of these marks , at least we can see what you mean , and advise from there
Cheers Ian
The car is used for day to day use ( Not Track Days ) and so i dont consider that as hard use .Average speed about 80 ish on my 10 mile commute to work.
I will take some pics at the weekend .
