I did not take the pictures.

The heater matrix valve behind the scuttlle was goosed. Both the inlet and outlet plastic pipes sheared off at the same time and had perished inside the rubber hoses where breaking up and could well have gone into the coolant system. Bit of a pain but it's such a common fault the parts bloke quoted the number without even checking.

So, if your KA is getting on, expect this bit to go.

 

Not just ka's but common failures on mk5 fiestas and focuses of the acing variety too

 

If its the heater matrix could it not be by passed as she wont need the hot heater. So it cold just be repiped back to the block.Had to do this on my sister in laws KA.lol and to my old pug 306.

 

Thanks to my knight in shining armour or the glare from his new award LOL Ian managed to repair my daughters KA so nice not to be Taxi anymore he did a fabie job, may think of hiring him out meeeeee ! wonder if I could get commission, need extra dosh to pay for fuel these days.
