JGM running 500bhp
Banny STi running 523bhp

Safely most say 450bhp should be no problem

guess it depends what you mean by supporting mods. TMIC won't do too well above 400bhp. but i guess that depends if you count Intercooler as "keeping engine standard".

Hi, they really are excellent results, are they on the standard engine and how long have they been running that sort of power?

Hi, yes that is exactly what I mean, the plan is.

MD321t
Perrin fmic
650cc injectors
Samco intake hose
RCM induction

To go with some other bits I have on the car already, Harvey smith headers and up pipe, full milltek system ect
So with these mods I was wondering what sort of power I could run at a safe level.

im sure that'll be fine mate, im going to be running an md321v on standard engine in the coming months!

as for how long they have been running.. i'm not sure with the jolly green monster but i know he had 450 then upped it to 500bhp, so it has had serious power for quite sometime.

banny on the other hand has had his running 523bhp for at least 10k miles now

I've always really wondered what the turbo lag is like on some of these big power builds...

Mine is running over 400 bhp, two years down the line I'm going for a 2.1 build soon, due to poor spool. Mine starts to pull properly around 3600 rpm and that's a bit slow. Hoping a 2.1 drags that down a bit.

Road car doing the odd trackday.

Can be slightly laggy but helps if you have the rev limit of 8k as per the JDM sti's, as the turbo still has decent power up there and on gear change you end up back in the sweet spot of the power band

We converted and mapped one like yours very recently with an SC46 turbo, and the owner swears it's more responsive than it was on the stock turbo. We left it at 440 bhp, with more to come.

Back again !

Mine has had three years of steady deterioration... initially was diagnosed with poor leakage figures. But I didn't have the cash then for a re-build.

So I bolted on an MD321H to try and kill it !!!
She still spooled very late and ONLY made 390 bhp about 20 short of most peoples...

Last year I came acoss an AET-Turbos GT3076 hybrid that's good for 550 bhp on a 2.5, so grabbed it ready for the 2.1 build that starts next month.

Sadly I've been in a couple of mapped 2.5's and they do make a very nice road car. But I'm looking for a 2.1 that will rev to 8K rpm...

Currently running >2 bar of boost, and she's feeling the pain now as the KS3 shows heavier knock readings by the week matched only by the wilting oil pressure at idle... but the car feels astonishing to one as old as I am.

Roll on the 1st of March !

A.J. will tell you...

"It's all in the mapping !"

Bigarf's Enginetuner powered 650 bhp motor is just so smooth he puts his diver's boot down and the car just pulls to the red line fabulous !

P.S. Yes power does corrupt... I want more now

So if I aim for the mid 400s that would be a good start.
Yours is defiantly an excellent example of what can be achieved
