Just put my scoob in for a quick tweak and have taken temporary ownership of an absolute beast of a courtesy car

My last courtesy car was a poverty-spec Peugeot 106 - 60bhp and 70 lb.ft. Free-revving and willing, highly chuckable, and never goes fast enough to risk your license! It was great fun for a few days, safe in the knowledge that I'd get the Scooby back soon

Had a choice between a silver or yellow (
) one. Went for the less conspicuous silver one
Its got an automatic box, 1.3l engine and when you floor it, revs to 7k before changing gear
Absolutely screams
Highly amusing, if nothing else. Haven't stopped grinning since I got it, thinking of trading in the Scoob

I got a Corsa 1.0 (or should that be 0.1), power, WOW. Just about hit 60 along slip road for the M25 and trying to rev the nuts off it to go quicker. It was bloody scary. The thing didn't even come with a ciggie lighter (pants)
I've had a MY01 Impreza GX, then next time a brand new 1.2l Renault Clio. In all my days the Clio was the WORST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN (including my mums 2cv and my first car and A reg Mk1 renault 5)
Got a Legacy last time.. an R reg I think it was...
Wasn't bad for what it was!
I think if they gave out STi7's we would feel sick getting back in your own car (unless you have an STi7 yourself of course)

I've had a loan car now more than I think I've had mine. Currenlty driving a 2.5 Legacy, full leather on an X. Previous an Isuzu 3.0 Trooper, brand new with 3k on clock. Legacy estate new, new shape impreza sport new.
Scoobyjawa, still no bloody car, but they ave said that although they are doing all the work for free out of warrenty they will now compensate me for the loss which may mean a free service or paint spray which I'm no complaining about.
Lancaster Reading will supply you with quality loan cars.

Hey Iain thats good news
Well its not that you still don't have the car
but getting the work done via warranty and them compensating for the amount of time they've had it is a real result
Hope to see you in it soon mate

going in again next week, so wel see what I get the pleasure of this time..... wouldnt mind trying a big 4X4 off roader thing.
I keep hinting at them letting me have the new Prodrive STi
kill two birds with one stone, test drive and courtesy car!!

Don't bother with a courtesy car most of the time - the few times I have they have been really carp (fish poo?)
You would think that it would be a perfect opportunity for a dealer to try and sell you your next car; after all if you had something you really loved for a day or two you'd move heaven & hell to get one, wouldn't you?
Perhaps I'm being naive, maybe people would just thrash anything half decent.

Lol

When I had my car in recently for a service the owner of the small garage I took it to apologised as the loan car wasn't back yet. I said I don't care what I get as long as it gets me A - B.
He loaned me his 1998 White Van, Citreon Berlingo with alloys and 126,000 miles. I had great fun and I became one of the "White Van Man Brotherhood" for the day, overtaking in and out was great, other lorries & vans flashed to let you out and back in.
You should try it.
O.M.
